Technicolor Sunday
Something about the way my brain processes visual stimulus generally causes me to see the world as a collection of color and shapes, detaching myself from the item’s subject. I guess that’s probably why I appreciate abstract art so much - the artist is usually interpreting the world as color and shape without structure. Some days are more prone to this phenomenon than others. I’m not sure if it’s a mental-emotional thing, or the way the sunlight is on those days or a combination of the two. This morning everything looked like geometry and color without consciously caring what the color and geometry in question was. Since I had my camera I decided to try to capture a few photos that would illustrate the way I see the world on those days. All of the items were inanimate objects; I saw a baby’s peach cheek that would have really demonstrated the point, but I thought his parents might find it odd if I came up and stuck a camera in their kid’s face.

I love your blog. I’ve followed since your RTW trip. You have such a beautiful way of describing things. Wonderful pictures too. Try wikipedia-ing “synesthesia”. I think you may find it interesting.
